Submissions are now open for local charitable organizations to participate in “Winsday” presented by Resolute Racing on Wednesday, April 29, part of Kentucky Derby Week at Churchill Downs. In partnership with the Community Foundation of Louisville, “Winsday: Great Thrills for the Greater Good” will continue to be a special day dedicated to supporting local nonprofit organizations. Up to 50 area nonprofit organizations are invited to join the Winsday celebration. By participating, organizations have a unique opportunity to fundraise, unlock cash prizes, network with community partners and amplify its mission to a wider audience – all at no cost.

Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming announced today that February 25, 2026 is the grand opening date for Churchill Downs Incorporated’s (“CDI”) eighth state-of-the-art gaming entertainment venue in Kentucky. The public will be welcome for the highly anticipated grand opening celebration as doors open to the $40 million gaming complex featuring over 225 of the latest and greatest historical racing machine (“HRM”) games, simulcast and sports wagering, along with food and beverage offerings including Wet Your Whistle and a Sports Bar.

On Monday, Churchill Downs Incorporated and the Virginia Veterans Foundation delivered a charitable contribution of $2,500 to Post 5715 John Fox Jr. Post to help improve accessibility and security at its Post Home in Big Stone Gap. The grant was the sixth contribution from the Colonial Downs VFW Post Home Improvement Grant program. The contribution ceremony included VFW Post 5715 Commander Bradley Bowen and Post members along with Senator Todd Pillion (District 6), Big Stone Gap Mayor Gary Johnson, and Gary Adams, past state commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Virginia.

Churchill Downs Incorporated continued its tradition of spreading holiday cheer by partnering with Maryhurst, a Louisville-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families in crisis. Through CDI’s Holiday Drive, employees across the company donated gifts and essentials to brighten the season for the youth served by Maryhurst.

This contribution is the fifth grant from the Colonial Downs VFW Post Home Improvement Grant program, which was created with a $25,000 charitable contribution made by Churchill Downs Incorporated as part of its Salute to Service during the 2025 Festival of Racing at Colonial Downs Racetrack. Previous grants helped John Lyon VFW Post 3150 (Arlington) improve its accessibility, supported VFW Post 776 (Radford-Montgomery County) in its recovery from a recent break-in, and helped VFW Post 176 (Newport News) and VFW Post 2582 (Suffolk) make needed upgrades and updates.

Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel (“Oak Grove”) joined the global Giving Tuesday movement by hosting a special event dedicated to giving back to the community. On this day of generosity, Oak Grove welcomed six incredible organizations for an in-house check presentation ceremony.

On Saturday, The Rose Gaming Resort and its parent company Churchill Downs Incorporated partnered with Delegate Luke Torian, Delegate Candi Mundon King, and Delegate Briana Sewell to make this Thanksgiving a little brighter with a special Thanksgiving turkey giveaway in Prince William County. Approximately 750 turkeys were distributed to Prince William residents free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis at Gar-Field High School beginning at 9:00 a.m..

Churchill Downs Racetrack welcomed this year’s class of Winner’s Circle Scholars, bringing together Louisville-area students who participated in the 2025 Governor’s Scholars Program. Scholars and their families gathered in the Starting Gate Suites for an afternoon, recognizing their achievements and the longstanding partnership between Churchill Downs and GSP.
