Rosie’s and Colonial Downs Participate in Rosie’s Gives Back Day

NEW KENT, VA., (July 13, 2024– On Saturday, July 13, Colonial Downs and Rosie’s participated in Rosie’s Gives Back Day, in celebration of the communities impacted by the work of Rosie’s Gives Back. The team at Colonial Downs and Rosie’s presented checks to 3 different local organizations:

  • The James River Horse Foundation, whose mission is to provide humane care, safe sanctuary, and, whenever possible and appropriate second career for Thoroughbred Horses that are no longer able to race and that may be at risk for abuse, neglect, or slaughter.
  • DreamCatchers, which works to enrich the lives of children, adults, and families through equine assisted services. 
  • One Women’s Circle, a community of women who uplift, support, and empower one another, founded on the belief that women can accomplish anything when they have the support of a tribe. From personal development and professional growth to health and wellness, One Women’s Circle offer workshops, training, and events that provide valuable knowledge and skills to its members.

Community nonprofit organizations can request financial, volunteer, in-kind, or other support through the Rosie’s Gives Back program by submitting an online request form.The Mission of Rosie’s Gives Back is to “Lead by Example” in giving back to the local communities in which Rosie’s operates across Virginia. Since the program was founded, Rosie’s Gives Back has made monetary and in-kind contributions of over $3.4M to organizations around Virginia. The aim of the program is to meaningfully improve the quality of life where Rosie’s team members live and work
