The Rose Gaming Resort and Virginia Delegates Team Up for Turkey Giveaway

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (November 23, 2025)—On Saturday, The Rose Gaming Resort and its parent company Churchill Downs Incorporated partnered with Delegate Luke Torian, Delegate Candi Mundon King, and Delegate Briana Sewell to make this Thanksgiving a little brighter with a special Thanksgiving turkey giveaway in Prince William County.

Approximately 750 turkeys were distributed to Prince William residents free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis at Gar-Field High School beginning at 9:00 a.m..

“At Churchill Downs, we’re committed to being good partners and supporting the communities in which we operate,” said Aaron Palmer, Director of Virginia Government Relations for Churchill Downs Incorporated. “The Town of Dumfries and Prince William County have been great partners for The Rose over its first year of operation, and we are thrilled to work with these tremendous public servants to give back in this meaningful way.”

“This has been a challenging year for many of our friends and neighbors with rising costs, a government shutdown, and federal budget and workforce cuts that have hit our community harder than most,” said Del. Luke Torian (District 24). “It was a true joy to partner with Churchill Downs and the team at The Rose to help share our blessings with our community.”

“Even in a community as strong as ours, food insecurity remains a real challenge for too many of our residents,” said Del. Candi Mundon King (District 23). “Thanks to the generosity of Churchill Downs, hundreds of our neighbors will be able to enjoy a special Thanksgiving meal with family and loved ones. Our strong sense of community is what makes Prince William such a special place to call home.”

“This was truly Prince William County at its best,” said Del. Briana Sewell (District 25). “When times get tough, we take care of one another, and that’s what this event was all about. It was truly inspiring to see so many community members volunteer their time and talents to serve our neighbors and meet the needs of this community. I am so proud to work with my fellow Delegates and Churchill Downs to help our neighbors have a blessed Thanksgiving.”

Churchill Downs Incorporated, The Rose Gaming Resort, and Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums around the state contribute to local organizations and causes through the “Rosie’s Gives Back” program which has made more than $5.4 million in direct donations and in-kind contributions, and donated thousands of hours of volunteer service.
