Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel Supports Local Community Through Hams for Heroes Event

OAK GROVE, Ky., (April 2, 2026) — On Thursday, April 2, Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel proudly partnered with the Christian County Military Affairs Committee to host the 4th Annual Hams for Heroes event. It’s an initiative dedicated to giving back to the brave individuals who serve our country and community.

During this year’s event, more than 600 Easter hams and sides were distributed to active-duty military members, veterans and first responders. Vehicles lined up throughout the day as volunteers worked together to ensure each recipient received a holiday meal as a small token of appreciation for their service and sacrifice.

This event would not have been possible without the collaboration of the Military Affairs Committee and the support of approximately 40 volunteers from across Christian County. Local leaders, including elected officials, law enforcement and fire department personnel, joined forces to help organize, unload and distribute meals to those in need.

“We’re honored to stand alongside the Military Affairs Committee in supporting the incredible heroes in our community,” said the Oak Grove team. “It was a privilege to serve the Soldiers of Fort Campbell, along with local veterans and first responders, during this special event.”

The Hams for Heroes initiative continues to grow each year, reflecting the strong sense of community and shared commitment to service in the region. Oak Grove Gaming remains proud to support programs like this — as well as the Military Affairs Committee’s annual Thanksgiving turkey distribution — that make a tangible difference in the lives of those who give so much.

At Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, giving back is more than a tradition — it’s a responsibility. We are grateful to be part of a community that comes together to support one another and honor our everyday heroes.
