Making the Season Brighter: The Rose Gaming Resort’s December of Giving

DUMFRIES, Va. (January 14, 2026) – The Rose Gaming Resort demonstrated its commitment to community and compassion throughout December with initiatives that brought joy to families and supported local charitable efforts.

A centerpiece of the resort’s holiday giving was the Angel Tree program, designed to ensure that every child in the Rose family experienced the magic of the season. Through this initiative, 135 Angel Tree tags were submitted on behalf of children ages 16 and under from team member families. Rose team members enthusiastically selected tags and purchased gifts, resulting in more than 1,000 presents distributed to 135 children on December 19.

The program was further strengthened by the generosity of the Fairfax County Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter, which donated twenty (20) $50 gift cards. This contribution ensured that every Angel received a gift and amplified the initiative’s impact.

In addition to the Angel Tree program, The Rose extended its spirit of giving by hosting a resort-wide Sock Drive in recognition of National Sock Day on December 4. Thanks to the generosity of team members, more than 700 pairs of new socks were collected and donated to a local charity, providing comfort and essential support to individuals in need throughout the community.

Churchill Downs Incorporated, The Rose Gaming Resort, and Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums around the state contribute to local organizations and causes through the “Rosie’s Gives Back” program which has made more than $5.4 million in direct donations and in-kind contributions, and donated thousands of hours of volunteer service. The program supports a range of nonprofits and causes around Virginia including groups providing services in education, workforce development, healthcare, and support for veterans and law enforcement.
