TwinSpires and Brisnet Veteran Vance Hanson Unanimously Elected to NTWAB Board of Directors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 16, 2025) — Vance Hanson, a longtime contributor to TwinSpires and Brisnet, has been unanimously elected to the Board of Directors for the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters (NTWAB).

Since 2008, Hanson has served as a writer and editor for Brisnet.com, TwinSpires.com and KentuckyDerby.com, where he’s known for his sharp insight and thoughtful analysis on some of the sport’s biggest stages.

“I’m really honored by this election and to be acknowledged by my peers,” Hanson said. “The NTWAB does great work supporting the people who tell the stories of this sport, and I’m excited about the opportunities to contribute to the organization moving forward.”

The NTWAB works to bring turf writers and broadcasters together, improve working conditions in the industry and promote a better understanding of Thoroughbred racing and breeding. At the end of each year, the group also helps present the prestigious Eclipse Awards, which recognize excellence throughout the sport.
