MEDIA ADVISORY: Churchill Downs Incorporated to Open NASDAQ Stock Market on April 27

Churchill Downs Incorporated (NASDAQ: CHDN) will kick off the beginning of its namesake racetrack’s 138th Spring Meet and the start of Kentucky Oaks and Derby week events by ringing the NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell in New York City on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. ET.

Churchill Downs Incorporated executives William C. Carstanjen, President and Chief Operating Officer; William E. Mudd, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; Mike Anderson, Vice President of Finance and Treasurer; and Scott Graff, Vice President, Corporate Controller, will participate in the ceremony, which will be carried live via satellite on national media outlets and will appear simultaneously on NASDAQ’s big screen tower at its Market Site in Times Square.

This marks the tenth consecutive spring that Churchill Downs Incorporated executives have opened the NASDAQ exchange in advance of Kentucky Oaks and Derby Week.

Churchill Downs Racetrack, in Louisville, Ky., will open its 2012 live racing season with the venue’s Opening Night celebration on April 28. The 138th running of the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands are scheduled for May 4 and 5, respectively.
