TwinSpires Player Services to Temporarily Suspend Telephone Registrations; Focus on Helping Customers Place Wagers

To accommodate the thousands of new account holders who wish to wager on the 2007 Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby race cards, the TwinSpires Player Service Center will temporarily suspend telephone registrations through Kentucky Derby Day, Saturday, May 5, to focus fully on assisting customers with telephone wagers. Customers may still register for a new account online through the TwinSpires Web site,, or in person at Churchill Downs racetrack or Trackside Louisville, an off-track betting (“OTB”) facility, located at 4520 Poplar Level Road in Louisville, Ky. Customers wishing only to register at Trackside Louisville and not stay for the racing card will not be charged admission. Parking at Trackside Louisville is free on Kentucky Oaks and Derby Days.

Because call volume to TwinSpires’ Player Services Center is expected to increase even further tomorrow in advance of the 133rd Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands, TwinSpires account holders who live in the Metro Louisville, Ky., area and who are planning to attend the Kentucky Derby in person (at Churchill Downs or Trackside Louisville) are encouraged to place their Kentucky Derby wagers online prior to leaving for the track or OTB.
